A gritty, lo-fi stereo tape delay inspired by the legendary tape echo. This effect captures the warm, organic character of vintage tape machines with authentic wow/flutter pitch wobble, soft tape saturation, gentle high-frequency rolloff, and subtle hiss.
Knob Controls:
- Subdivision: Scales delay times from short slapback to long, spacious echoes
- Repeat: Feedback intensity. Low values give a few clean repeats. High values build dense, saturated trails. Near max, it pushes into self-oscillation territory
- Wear: Tape degradation amount. Controls wow/flutter modulation depth (pitch wobble), high-frequency darkening on each repeat, and subtle tape hiss.
Foot-switch Controls:
- Short press: Cycles through 6 tape head combinations.
- Long press: Freeze. Captures and holds the current delay buffer, recirculating infinitely without new input. Press again to unfreeze and resume normal operation.
