Jimi Tenor: The Making of Litophone

Jimi Tenor once said: "I've been trying to keep my cool". We can only admit that he's a man who keeps his word. For such an iconic artist who still manages to operate outside the mainstream, it seems that making things such as can be seen on the featured video, comes with natural ease.

A professional musician for almost 20 years who has also practised photography, directed short films, designed clothes and even electro-mechanic instruments (yes!). Being his devoted fans and knowing this, we just had to get in touch with him sooner or later to show him our Perc Drumming Machine. Fate wanted it to happen exactly at the beginning of the so-called self-isolation time. He’s been spending these days at his remote summer cottage in Finland. With some of our instruments, fortunately. It’s always hard to say what one can expect from an artist of this level, besides quality stuff, of course. But Jimi came out to be really friendly a decent human being. And at the end, he decided to share something that went beyond our wildest expectations.

If you like what you’ve just seen, it may be a good idea to take a look at other Jimi’s adventures with Polyend Perc too. Especially knowing that he says “I will definitely make an album with these. Not sure when it’s out. I have a couple of albums in the pipeline already! I need another hobby besides music I think…”. Can’t wait to see what’s exactly on his mind because Tenor’s music, along with his design and technical innovations is always something fresh and surprising.
