Yebisu303: Hydrasynth Explorer & Polyend Tracker

"About twenty years ago, when I touched the ModPlug Tracker (now known as OpenMPT) for the first time, I couldn't successfully jump into the world of Trackers. But the Polyend Tracker has allowed me to knock on that door again."

“The keys and jog dials that allow for quick access to each parameter really add a new color to tracker style music production. I love building Oldschool Jungle with this machine.

In this video, I’m using the tracker to play breaks, 808 kick sub-bass, resonant sweeps, and pizzicato samples, while sequencing Hydrasynth Explorer pad sounds using the MIDI chord provided in the tracker’s FX. This synthesizer has a lot of preset sounds inspired by vintage synths of the past and is my new favorite.

The real-time operation in Tracker’s Performance mode is of course very useful, and I also like the ability to switch between sequential and immediate patterns depending on the operation.

At 2:50-3:35 in this video, I have prepared various variations of patterns using the same brakes, and I’m playing around with them by quickly switching between them in an improvisational way.”
