Scene: VVLV – Altered States

“Getting back into the workflow of a tracker took me a bit. Back when I was a kid with an Amiga, I had no idea of how to write a track. So I just made some noise with it. But now I kinda know what I am doing, and this is such an enjoyable experience. I love the workflow, the sampler, the fx section… it’s all very inspiring and surprisingly easy to dive into. While I do love some good breakbeats and jungle tracks, I tried to go for something different and didn’t start with sliced breakbeats and 160bpm, but went for the dark and moody path.”

“Just prepared the first scene track with it. Some very dark and bass-heavy beat in a hip hop style, with movie samples. Tried to incorporate a lot of stuff, like LFOs, a little sidechaining, all sorts of FX, and manipulation the Tracker offers. You can download VVLV – Altered States project file here.
