Aisjam: A Masterclass in Tracker Wavetable Synthesis
Aisjam is back again with an impressive tutorial. The synth engines on the Play+ have received a lot of buzz but what if you want a synth on your tracker? Aisjam explains exactly what you need to do to get Play+ style synths with the Tracker.
Aisjam: I’ve been making music with trackers since 2010 and had my Polyend Tracker for a couple of years now. It’s a fantastic tool, but it’s mainly for playing samples. I really missed making that classic bleep and bloop sounds, the kind you hear in old video game chiptunes and analog synth music.
So, I decided to do something about it. There are a lot of smarts that went into the Polyend Tracker, like the wavetable engine. So I went through my synthesizers, recorded a bunch of different oscillator sounds and created an oscillator pack, which works with both the Tracker and Tracker Mini. This way, everyone can make those retro chiptunes and analogue synths on their trackers.
Now that I have been playing with the Play+ and its new synth engines, which I really like. I wanted those sounds on my Tracker too. So, I figured out a way to do it using the pack and I’m sharing this with you all. Now you can use these new synth sounds on both the Tracker Mini and the original Tracker.
